yes, yes no even though im from yorkshire and yes in that order the new zealand and canadian accent is softer than australian and american and some of the words are different in lancashire and yorkshire which normally gives the game away. dont know any brummies or people from the black country only lenny henry (not personally of course)

What is Brummie anyway?

Canadian & American - each state and province is slightly different, even within regions.

In general, an easy giveaway between these two is the question-y sound of a Canadian accent; a kind of upward lilt at the end of each sentence, like "you agree with me, right.?" It's most common expression is in the trademark "Eh?" at the end of a Canadian sentence or word. Another way is OU words like "out".
Canadians say "Go oat to the oat hoase, " for example, when they mean "Go out to the outhouse." Unfortunately for the one trying to detect accents, people from the border area between North Carolina and Virginia in the US have that same way of saying "out." And of course, the use in Canada is probably limited to only certain parts of Canada.

It's not so much the accents, but how they pronounce words.
With so many varying dialects,it is hard to understand what is being said at times.
