I know this sounds funny, but Masingil powered douch....
Use 1/2 the water it says to use (You may need several boxes depending on the area that was sprayed...) and wash the dog with it.

I have heard that tomato juice is one of the only natural remedies for this. There is also a spray, I think it is called Skunk Out or Skunk Off that may work. Good luck getting the smell out. My dad had two dogs that were sprayed by a skunk and it was a horrible smell; especially when their coat/fur got wet.

Crossing the path of a skunk can leave your pet smelling like the cartoon character Pepe Le Pew. To help alleviate the irritating, powerful odor, a world-renown veterinary by the name of Dale C. Johnson, DVM offers a homemade recipe to have your dog or cat smell less like a skunk.
Dr. Johnson has tried several experiments to remove the skunk smell from sprayed animals. As a Beagle owning veterinarian, he says many of the common antidotes that people try, but fail to do the job, are tomato juice, vinegar and different types of shampoos.
Dale recommends an easy home recipe using ingredients that can be found in most drugstores.
* One quart 3 percent hydrogen peroxide
* One-fourth cup baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)
* One teaspoon liquid soap
He says to begin by wetting the animal down, then apply the mixture and work it through the animal's hair. Leave the solution on three to four minutes, and finish with a tap water rinse.
Caution: Make up only as much of the de-skunking remedy as you can use at one time. It is unsafe to bottle and store this chemical combination

About all that stupid tomatoe juice stuff, it only makes your dog smell like rotton tomatoes. My dog got sprayed by a skunk and three baths took care of it. My dog also killed the skunk while he was at it.

two bottles of hydrogen peroxide
one half cup baking soda
1 squirt of liquid dish soap
Mix in a bucket (it will foam)
sponge on dog and let sit for 10-15 minutes (the longer the better)
Rinse with plain water.
This will work better than anything else. I have dogs who get skunked a couple of times per year and I keep this stuff on hand all the time.

I used to have a Chow mix (VERY thick coat) who just couldn't learn his lesson with skunks. In his entire 15 years I think he probably got skunked at LEAST 2x a year.
We tried every remedy out there and what worked for us was the peroxide/baking soda/liquid soap recipe posted above.
Believe me, I was not about to allow my dog inside stinking and I wasn't going to leave him out all night. This works!

When our dog got sprayed, we took him to the groomer and they gott out very well. I wouldn't want to mess with the tomato juice and beer.
