I have recently updated to windows xp service pack 2. Before upgrading to service pack 2 I didnt have the problem. Now I open my add/remove programs screen and find out that there are four or five programs listed and then a very very long space of nothing and then the rest of the programs will be listed. I need to keep service pack two for some of my work programs to function properly but if at all possible I would like to get a fix for this problem or at least remove the hotfix that is causing it.

Try clicking on Sort and choose how you want it sorted to see if it will reset the list.
