I have dated the same guy on and off since 5 th grade .I am know 19 and have no dating experience or very little.I am really shy and quiet too.Look wise i am usually described as cute or pretty but not hot.I will be transfering to a four year college and am nervous.How do i learn how to date and meet new people/friends?

Just make friends with your roommate and everything will pick up from there. Guys in college will most likely seek you out for one reason or another. Just make sure it is the right one. And remember that everyone else at your college is in the same situation as you. They all have no friends and are trying to make new ones. Just talk to people and join in on things when people are doing them.

Girl, please! There is no reason to be shy when you get to college. People will just come up to you and start a conversation when you're there. But if you really want some tips:
1)If you're waiting anywhere, ask the person what their major is and how'd they decide on it? Instant conversation that might last for hours.
2) Live on campus - your roommate could be an instant friend for life.
3)Eat in the cafeteria
4) Go to all parties (but go with a friend, NEVER GO ALONE.) Some cute boy will be chatting you up in no time.
But most importantly, believe that you will have a good time at college and that you will meet nice people. What you believe usually comes true. Good luck! I had the best times of my life at college and wouldn't trade them for a million lifetimes!

I assume you want to meet new people, the best thing to do is ask your 4year college adviser that if they have any transfer student organization, if so become part of it, they have lunch meeting, also go to the the school library, you will meet new friends, and stay on top of every ting in all your class, and try to be friendly with everyone it, good luck!!!

If I was there with you now I would give you a big hug and giggle a little bit thinking back. Everybody who is honest talks about being scared about dating new people and trying to meet people. But out of everything in college to worry about, that is the one thing you don't It will be easy. There will be guys all around and they will flirt with you. Please just relax. It will be different and awkward, but you will be fine. Everybody else there will be scared too. Realize that and realize you will be ahead of everybody if you realize that and work with it.

you practice dating --- dont stress about it and talk to people
how you look is not as important as who you are --- be yourself and remember that most of the people in first year will be feeling the same as you
