"Mom, Dad...I drinking and...." LOL j/k
Tell them the truth as soon as possible and explain what happened...what you have to do and what you will do, how you have reflected and learned from your (speeding) 'mistake' and that you accept full responsibility.
They may just be impressed enough with your responsible follow-through to ease up on you about the ticket.

I would recommend doing it the same way my teenaged daughter did this morning...."Mom, last night on the way home I got a speeding ticket".
Am I thrilled? NO! She understands the fine is her responsibility and if the insurance goes up the difference is also her responsibility.
Hiding it will make it worse, trust me. We parents aren't the ogres our kids think we are! We'd much rather be told the truth in a mature way then find out after the fact.

If you have the money there really is no reason to tell them unless you're a minor and need them to go to the court with you. If you don't have the money then they're probably going to be upset with you but you have to promise to pay them back even if it's just a little at a time. Once they realize that you're paying them back and acting responsibly, they'll probably not be so upset anymore.

Just tell them that you made a mistake. Like the other person said, if you are on their insurance they will find out anyway. If you are not and you have the money, then just pay it and dont tell them. Just be careful driving next time.

I guess you'd better come up with a plan on how you'll be able to convince them that you'll start being more responsible and how you're going to pay back the $205 it'll cost them. Though if you were my kid, I'd make you take the driving class.

tell them, pay the ticket at the full amount and take the driving course anyway to get the points taken off of your record. it will show your parents that you really can take responsibility for your actions. it will set a precedent in your mind the next time you decide to get leadfoot`- itis

They are going to find out eventually, unless you have the money to pay the ticket. Just tell them, and take your punishment.

They will find out one of these days. Better to take the flack now for telling the truth than to be caught in a lie later. Put yourself in their shoes....fess up.

UMM, I would wait until they come home and tell them both at the same time, it will prevent you getting yelled at twice. If you have a softer parent then tell that one first.
