Yes, an olive, since it grows on a tree, is considered a fruit and it's juice is technically an oil. The previous person's answer asks if there is such a thing as lemon or orange oil and the answer is, yes, but it is not made from the flesh part, but the skin.

Olives are a fruit, becuase they are highly oily in composition, the oil is the juice. The same applies to banana's, the oily mush of which can only be formed into a smoothie or milkshake, and Avacado Pears; the juice of which is Avacado oil.

Olive is not a vegetable, so its a fruit. We get oil from olive just like we get oil from palm. Just bcoz we cant eat palm fruit, doesnt mean its not a fruit. Just bcoz we cant squeeze out juice frm olive, doesnt mean its not a fruit.

Hey, carrots and tomatoes are vegetables but you do have carrot juice and tomato juice, right?

Fruit is grown on trees. As for why its a fruit....And why oil instead of juice...
For every rule there is at least one exception. But I think it has to do with where its grown. Olives, I think, are grown in dessert regions. Water evaporates in hot dry climates. So the tree has adapted by producing oil instead on juice (water).
