I have a reciever so I just want the speakers. My problem: My current sub has traditional speaker wire and not the 'plug-in' that my reciever demands.

So I have to buy all new surround speakers to have a sub....right?

It's a fairly recent Pioneer reciever but the speakers are from an older system so I can't plug my Sub into my Reciever since the reciever takes an actual plug an the sub speakers is the old traditional speaker wire.

It sounds like you may need a new system to work properly. There are pretty good systems out there that are less than $300. Samsung makes several of them. If you need a good deal let me know. You can email me at a.taylor@onsitesat.com

Your receiver is not a surround sound system. You need to buy a new system to get the true surround sound quality. That must be an old system.
