With good reason. Very small kittens (under 8-12 weeks) belong to the mother and to their siblings. If you would like to buy or adopt a kitten which is older than that, approach the Humane Society or an established breeder. You should have no trouble to find one. All the best and good luck with your kitten.

Wait till about May. Then you can find kittens in every shape and color and size. Winter isn't "kitten season". Cats don't go into heat much in cold weather. You need to let a kitten stay with it's mother till it's at least 7 weeks old in order to be fully weaned and more well behaved. Moms teach their kittens alot more than eating and litter box using.
good luck!

you do realize that small kittens grow up to be full grown cats???

I dont know where you are but where I am EVERY shelter and SPCA has LOADS of kittens for adoption (which is more cost effective than taking a "free" one that hasnt had any shots or deworming)

kittens are terrors they will destroy stuff..if you get a kitten I dont want to see you posting on here in 2 months "HELP MY KITTEN IS DESTROYING STUFF- SHOULD I DECLAW IT?"

many places DO NOT allow adoptions so close to Christmas.. too much stress on the animal PLUS they want to make sure the kittie is forever.. not just for "Chirstmas"

You should try searching on Petfinder.com because on advanced search you can search according to age. Be prepared if there are not very small kittens in your area. What you could do next is contact your local shelter about fostering a kitten until it gets adopted. They are always happy to have fosters.

I've seen regular kittens, a few months old, on www.craigslist.org.

VERY small kittens belong with their mothers, because they need their mother's milk. So a lot of people will be waiting until they're weaned.
