Flag and country worship is idolatry. Putting USA and the flag before God is wrong. Killing your neighbor is wrong. War is based on for profit, people make tons of money on it and money being the root of all evil, how do you justify KILLING? How do you justify that you love your brother, then hate Muslims? Jesus spoke about a gospel of love that was for ALL MAN AND WOMAN kind. So how do you justify the slaughter of so many innocent people? And in revelation when Jesus returns, his first goal is that people make war no more.

It's good to hear some of the truth here, thanks for the answers. I am really sad about the more troops being called. If you look at the Veterans of the USA they are crazy, messed up and lives ruined with no support of the USA government either.

Go to most American churches and they will have an American flag in the sanctuary. At the same time, they will say the Apsotles Prayer and identify themselves with the holy Catholic (which means universal) church. They are blind to their hypocritical ways and somehow believe that American is the chosen nation and instrument of judgment of God. We will spend over 100 Billion (yes with a B) in 2007 alone. Yet our health care is in crisis, homelessness abounds, edcuation levels are diminishing, and violent crimes is escalating every year. Let's face it as a nation, our interference in Iraq has cost more suffering and death then their former leader ever brought about. That's just a fact! In our self-righteousness, we as a nation are trying to force other nations to become like us, to be participants in OUR system so that we can benefit from them in the future. Have the weapons been turned into plows here in the USA as God wanted? Far from it!

The Islamofascist terrorists are the ones who are, for the most part, slaughtering the innocent people. (Most of their victims are Muslims, by the way.)
It is a very Christian virtue to help others who are oppressed and unable to live and worship freely. The political aspects of the war begun by those non-Christians is secondary to the moral issues.
The war was started and waged against the predominantly Judeo-Christian cultures of the world by non-Christians. It would be a moral abomination to sit and do nothing.
Even if the United States and its allies were to disband their military, the war would continue. But if the Islamofascists would today stop murdering innocent people, the war would be over.
(I am a U.S. Army veteran and am pretty far from being crazy or messed up...at least as from the result of my service. I can attribute my faults to many different things, but none to my military service. The biggest contributor to someone being "messed up" is the human foible of being self-centered.)

In this millennium of high civilization, the support of any wars is quite wrong. However, wars still exist here and there with several complicated reasons that the UN can hardly intervene to restore peace.
For the sake of national order, while waiting for the establishment of world peace, citizens of all countries must observe the regulations of their governments. Otherwise, they will suffer anarchism, which is horrible than any other wars.

You do not know much about God or what his will is on this earth.
War for the purpose of self defense against terrorists is biblically supported... we are NOT the ones who are starting the wars.. the muslims are....suicide bombers, dictators liek the guy in Iran and sadaam, osama bin laden,...the USA is NOT slaughtering innocent people.... the muslims are and we are trying to stop them, you idiot....
only a stupid godless muslim would say this, or a godless liberal,....maybe if the muslims left the world alone..... we would finally have peace.....
If Jesus were here, he would personally administer justice and punishment to all those who persecute christian, jews and americans...which are the crimes against humanity that the muslims commit.....soon Jesus will return and he will NOT be with some Imam.... he will come alone and do just this....he will removal the evil from the earth that the islamic terrorists have created... and finally we will have peace...
the american have made no profit from any war.... we have spent billions of dollars trying to give freedom to innocent people persecuted by crazy muslims....our debt has increased and our taxes have gone up.... all americans have had to bear the burden of this war.... our soldiers have been willing to give up their lives for other people......so get with reality....
islam makes war, not peace.

Christians do not support or want wars to happen but the reality of life is that wars do happen. Christians do not hate Muslims, in fact Muslims are taught by their Koran to hate Christians and Jews.
After the Second Coming of Jesus, there will be no more wars.

It is noteworthy that the Bible records many accounts of fighting and warfare. The providence of God in war is exemplified by His name YHWH Sabaoth ("The LORD of hosts"--Exodus 12:41). God is portrayed as the omnipotent Warrior-Leader of the Israelites. God, the LORD of hosts, raised up warriors among the Israelites called the shophetim (savior-deliverers). Samson, Deborah, Gideon, and others were anointed by the Spirit of God to conduct war. The New Testament commends Old Testament warriors for their military acts of faith (Hebrews 11:30-40). Moreover, it is significant that although given the opportunity to do so, none of the New Testament saints--nor even Jesus--are ever seen informing a military convert that he needed to resign from his line of work (Matthew 8:5-13; Luke 3:14).
Prior to His crucifixion, Jesus revealed to His disciples the future hostility they would face and encouraged them to sell their outer garments in order to buy a sword (Luke 22:36-38; cf. 2 Corinthians 11:26-27). Here the "sword" (Greek: maxairan) is a dagger or short sword that belonged to the Jewish traveler's equipment as protection against robbers and wild animals. A plain reading of the passage indicates that Jesus approved of self-defense.
Self-defense may actually result in one of the greatest examples of human love. Christ Himself said, "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends" (John 15:14). When protecting one's family or neighbor, a Christian is unselfishly risking his or her life for the sake of others.
Theologians J. P. Moreland and Norman Geisler say that "to permit murder when one could have prevented it is morally wrong. To allow a rape when one could have hindered it is an evil. To watch an act of cruelty to children without trying to intervene is morally inexcusable. In brief, not resisting evil is an evil of omission, and an evil of omission can be just as evil as an evil of commission. Any man who refuses to protect his wife and children against a violent intruder fails them morally."

ok, Christ replaced right into a non violent guy. i do no longer bear in mind our militia ever signing him up so, he continues to be non violent. The WMD's do exist, they have been moved from Iraq to Syria, there are satellite tv for pc photograph's and our troops stumbled on a lab with the factors, kit and lines of the chemical components. Now, approximately who pronounced what. I in no way pronounced and that i've got yet to make certain any comments in Yahoo solutions that should steer me to have faith that God approves of conflict or is a "Warmonger". in case you're so strongly adverse to the conflict in Iraq then i'd advise which you write , or call, the Democratic social gathering controlled congress and tell them to quit giving the Pentagon funds and quit the conflict.it is that in case you will come across them. it particularly is been rumored that numerous have been seen with a number of the CEO's of the failing banks and private loan businesses out spending their "Golden Parachutes" that, we the taxpayers, have so generously loaned seven-hundred billion money to. So, go thump your bible someplace else.

You can never justify killing.
This is just so weird.
Adults tell the kids that hurting someone is wrong no matter what the reason, and they're trying to justify killing?

Idolotry is something that takes your focus off of god as being the most important thing in your life...its not just the worship of item but ideal and people as well....many people are so preoccupied with their children that god falls into second place...this is idolotry as well. Love of country is not idolotry unless you place that love over your love for god

THere is much more we can do for our veterans private and governement. If you are an american and you enjoy your freedom you should be thankful to them. If you believe in war or not these men gave their lives for your freedom and they do not deserve to be trampled on for the politician's decisions. Thats what angers me is when a soldier returns from doing his duty and gets spit on by some punk kid that has a beef with the president. Respect your veterans.

Allow me to clarify being that there must be some confusion on my statement of being "preoccupied" with children. Maybe that was abad example because many people on here do not understand what is meant by it. Let me first say that I have 2 sons that are both honor roll students, one is a state champ in karate, and both are very active in the church youth group. They became this way because I did not worship them, i loved them, disciplined them, and taught them right from wrong. In return they are growing to be good educated well behaved christian boys that I am very proud of because i put god first and let him help me raise them.

first, do not hate Muslims. Hate what they do. Hate how they think. Hate that they hate me. Second. God certainly allows us to protect what we own. He says to live lawfully under the gov. of your land. Christians try to do that. If they want to go to the extreme in following Christ, they can and should join a group of like minded people. We call them monks, nuns, brothers, sisters. There are many ways to follow our God. He lives inside us so leads us individually. We are not some robots lead by a set of rules. Did you not see or understand that we had on our money and in the pledge of allegiance "One nation UNDER GOD' not idolatry. It was humility, knowing where we stood. What you need is a very good course in theology. Please check into it. I would suggest a good Roman Catholic one.
