Installing Service Pack 2 is very important. It protects your computer from hackers as it installs and activates a firewall plus installs many updates and patches. SP2 is a huge program but it will only install the parts that you do not have in your computer already.

SP2 can be downloaded from the Microsoft web site or comes down as part of Windows Updates if you have enabled automatic updates.

For a shipping and handling fee Microsoft will send you a CD ROM with the program on it.

Over a dial-in connection it will take forever to download. Over a broadband connection you can download it.

Installation is easy simply insert the disk and follow the on screen instructions. From a download it will prompt you on what to do. It won't install if you do not have a genuine copy of windows. It will let you know during the installation process and abort if Windows is not genuine. (It will NOT make any changes to your computer unless it determines you have a valid copy of Windows)

The only installation problem normally occurs it there is extensive viruses or malware (Ad ware) on your computer.
Before starting update your anti-virus software and do a complete scan of the computer.

The same with your ad-ware program.

It is worth the effort to install...FYI - Many colleges do NOT allow students to use there computer unless SP2 is installed.

u need to install service pack 2..it contains vital patches for security loopholes. if u do not install service pack 2, u have a higher risk of been exposed to viruses, spyware n adware...

some of the systems crash when they install service pack two.. but that is rare after the latest releases of service pack 2..so there is no need to worry about installing it.

Go to the start menu, all programs, windows update. It's important that you update to service pack two, and then install the other updates to keep your computer from being attacked. I do not recommend that you install an update from any other site than from Microsoft.

hi, in the past put in provider p.c.. 2 verify you have the replace KB 955430 put in on your Vista laptop. That replaced into released on the 2nd might 2009. If that may not put in then attempting to place in SP2 will fail. Assuming KB995430 is put in, then particular, its in basic terms a click away to place in SP2, in spite of the shown fact that, it is going to possibly require a reboot with the familiar alert because it shuts down telling you to no longer practice pc off at the same time because it starts unpacking the provider p.c... it is going to immediately close off and reboot laptop whilst its good and arranged.
