As a work site, the safety regulations in the petroleum industry are extremely stringent. Noise, falling objects, burns, explosions, etc. are all possible so safety programs are present everywhere.

As far as public health is concerned, the firms rely on legislation which they can then comply with since, understandably, they are not in the public health business nor are they running a charitable organization.

Any company that went into the public health business on its own would be uncompetitive very quickly. But, legislation keeps everyone on the same line.

The large equipment and power is the danger is. I have taken many bath's in petroleum. and now I have made it to 76 yrs.
