About 1 or 2 times per week I wake up in the middle of the night gasping for air. My husband tells me that I don't snore.

Anytime you wake up gasping for air, it could be sleep apnea. Even if it isn't, having difficulty breathing is a problem that needs to be addressed immediately. Its possible that your husband does not hear you snore. Its also possible that this is happening hundreds of times a night without you knowing it. You need to have a sleep study to determine if you have sleep apnea. It can lead to other problems if left untreated, and is very dangerous under general anesthetic. Good luck.

The best way to find out if it is sleep apnea is have a sleep study done. Most people with apnea do snore. But there could be more going on with you than that. Go to your MD and talk with him. That would be the best for your health. Unfortunately we self diagnose our selves too much

You can have sleep apnea without snoring. Get tested. You might just need a CPAP machine.
