We should, if we can make a decent living farming it. But we can't make a decent living because tree huggers want too many regulations and consumers aren't willing to make sure when they buy groceries that the farmers are getting a fair share, so pave over it and let consumers starve

When it becomes easy to get rich being a farmer, the should stop selling land for developments.

It's their land, they should do what they want with it. The local governments set the zoning guidelines so they pretty much dictate what land is used for. But if it is zoned for mixed use or can be rezoned for development, then the farmer can do what they want with the land. Environmentalists and "tree huggers" love to tell other people how to live, but I'd love to see some of them go knock on the door of some farmers around here and try to tell them what to do with thier land. They'd learn to dance real quickly.

Well, we still have to produce crops ... these days I know that it is really difficult to make a living as a farmer but what on earth will we do when all of the farm land is developed???? How will we get our crops??? depend on other countries to feed us??? we should be preserving what fertile farm lands we have left in this country and pay these farmers what they deserve so that they don't have to turn to selling their land to developers to make a honest buck... besides these developments is one of the worst environmental problems this nation has...URBAN SPRAWL ...

farmers should look out for their best interest,if that means selling out to developers would enrich their lives more than working a farm, thats what they should do.

By selling the land, many animals are forced out of their homes made on the farm, trees that supply oxygen are cut down...so forth and so on.
