I would start by eliminating the original God.(since this is hypothetical I can assume that there is one) Since he/she/it seems to be apathetic to our plight there is no reason for his/her/it's existence. I would then find the most benevolent person in history, maybe Ghandi, and offer the mantle to them.

I will tell you the truth whether or not you shall believe me is another story.. God call us his children.. what happens when children grow up? what does a calf become when it grows up I tell you it becomes a Cow. Jesus said a servant is not above his master but it is good for a servant to be as his master.. what do you think he meant by that parable.. Did you ever think for a sec maybe one day a gazzillionth years from now you might be making a universe of your own???

well, if god could do anything, let him do it (i mean make the world a better place) but since he can't do that, he certainly can't make a God out of me, or anything else, as a matter of fact.

how can we make the world better when god was the one who sent down the demons to us?
it's like trying to make butter of water. everyone know that's not realistic.

Well I'd probably be able to come up with something better once the omniscience kicked in, but I'd start my making sure no one believed in me.
