They have stricter laws to curb illegal immigrants. Also US offer more opportunity, liberty and fun than Canada or Britain.

It's because the Canadian goverment is too PC to call it a problem they are importing a lot of Muslims to Canada to help fill jobs so they can get collect the taxes neede to support their socialized medicine and other welfare type programs the samr way Europe is doing. This short sighted fix to major faults of socialism is changing the demographics of Europe and Canada and not for the better. The French have been suffering from riots almost every night for months by Muslim youths but they are to scared to call it what it is they say it is a youth problem but they won't say it Muslim because then they may offend the rioting Muslims. The same is failed government policies in Canada will be a problem for the US in the future. And the liberals want us to take the same road to hell as Europe is traveling. No thanks.

Canada welcomes immigrants to our country, we have stronger immigration laws for illegals but it is also easier to immigrate to Canada. In fact, without immigration to Canada, our population would decline.
The US and Britian have immigration problems because they have other countries around them, every year 100,000+ illegal Mexican refugees sneak into the US, Canada doesn't have a high illegal immigrant rate because the only country near us is the US. Canada doesn't have problems because we accept immigrants and we are proud to be the most culturally diverse country in the world.

I think immigration just hasn't "caught on" in Canada. I don't think the climate has anything to do with it. As for the US. and Britain, I think it has a little bit to do with having the same language--learn it and blend in easier than countries who recognize 4-5 (and / or 4-5 different variations, approximately) such as Mexico.

I think it is because U.S. an Britain is more advertised worldwide. Not a secret that U.S. for many years known in other countries (I mean in such whose citizens are wishing to get away) as "Eldorado" or Heaven on earth, where every one can get what he want. So it is now like stereotype, "if I go to U.S. I wil live beter" or something like this...
Same thing with GB. And by the way coldness of coutry also important f.x. for people of Africa or Midle East

It is simply because the Canadians not only have immigration laws, but they actually ENFORCE them. Which is why illegals think twice before going there.
Imagine the gall of those Canadians! They actually expect immigrants to OBEY THE LAW of the host country!? Shocking!!!

It has to do with convenience, if an illegal alien is closer to US and can make more, be warmer than the alternative, are less likely to be caught, can apply for welfare, easily send money back to Mexico to family members, can commute back to Mexico easier, etc..... its a no brainer on the choice of border to illegally cross and exist.

As a Canadian, I can tell you that you are a bit misguided.
Canada (especially during the twelve years of Liberal rule) had a habit of deporting hard-working people while refusing to deport criminals.
Maybe now under the Conservatives, common sense will reign.

Immigrants worldwide have read about America's mistreatment of its employees at Wal-Mart and other dastardly employers and they wanted to come here and see for themselves. They only go to Canada for vacation.
