I was just wondering if you all noticed the false pretenses that are repeated over and over in here. Wasn't it Hitler who said that, If you say it loud enough and long enough, people will start to believe it?

"How can you believe something not based on fact?
Notice the pretense is that our faith is not based on fact.

"How can you believe in a God with no proof?"
Pretense..."proof" is what is required to believe in God and not evidence which is not something science deals with. It is an interpretation of "evidence" not proof. And if "evidence" is what they really mean, that there is none to stand on in believing in a creator God.

I see this over and over from more of the RABID atheists. Not all of them are like that, but for the ones that are...why not just deal with the truth. Points to an agenda of not really being open to a real discussion but to evangelize and cause strife.

Just curious if anyone else noticed a common theme.

I do see it, and no, I do not fall for it or start to question my faith because of it. There are some people that may question but if your roots are firmly planted in the fertile soil of Jesus Christ, no one can yank those roots out and plant them somewhere else or destroy them. That is exactly what the devil wants to do. And in some he will succeed, we must not let him succeed with us!

The first person that reponded gave the meaning of faith, and another person declared that they have a revelation. We must remember that God works in mysterious ways. We see in the Bible that Jesus healed multiple blind men, but another thing we see, is that He didn't healed them all the same way. This shows us that God will do what is needed, but probably not the way we expect it. You should read Romans 1:16-end. Here are some of the verses: "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things." (Romans 1:16-23) If anyone see's a building, a car we all immidiately think that someone had to create it, because it didn't come out of thin air, but when some (atheists) people when they see nature (anything not man made) which has a much more complex design and function, say that it appeared out of nothing. And they use lies and fake skelitons (I can prove) to deceive people into believing that there isn't a God. The atheists biggest leader Charles Darwin, who they use his writing as their back bone of their belief, didn't believe in his own theory.
One thing about humanity, is that we make errors. But if we looked at the preserved Word of God in English the KJV, we will not be able to find one contradiction. Why is that if supposebly that "book" has about 45 human authors? 2 Peter 1:19-21 states: "We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost."
I will leave it to you all to look into this, and hopefully come to God's grace of forgiveness and repent so that you may serve HIm.

As to your lead question, the vast majority of people "fall for false pretense." Why should Christians (including me) be any different? As to some atheists being "rabid" about their position, I heard Salmon Rushdie say in a TV interview that atheists seem to be the people most concerned abouy the question of God. My guess is that as people who are "born again" or join a religion of their own volition--rather than being born into it as infants--seem to be the strongest proponents of that religion, it is probably people who rejected the idea of God on their own who are the most avid in trying to convince others that atheism is the correct.

actually Hitler said that if you surround a lie with enough truth and say it loud enough and long enough you can get anyone to believe you. and the Nazis were a branch of Christianity. and yes i see the theme that you speak of. i grow tired of dealing with the "your going to hell" anytime i ask a question about my religion.

The Flying Spaghetti Monster is a common theme.
That's because He is such a gentle God. He wiggles for our delight and will save us all.

Yes, I have noticed it, though I can thankfully say that I have noticed it from people who are/seem round about rude, not from sincere people.
