Reindeer doesn't roast well, you're better off boiling the meat, simmer for a good 2 - 3 hours, slice it thinly (although this could be done before simmering). The trick is to ensure the meat is really tender. Simply prepare some mash potato and red currant jam. Place on the plate any way you wish. Tuck in, it's absolutely delicious. This recipe come from Finland and I got withdrawal symptoms when I came back. If you have to roast the reindeer, still use red currant sauce/jam as it compliments the meat really well.

There is a reindeer ranch near my place, raised for food. I've never eaten any but they cook it like beef. They say it's alot like elk or moose. Not really on my list of things I will eat.

Just cook it up like pork mate. Reindeer is great with squirrel pie as a delightful treat afterwards. Drinking bear piss puts hair on your chest and is sure to impress the ladies.

I don't know, but when I used to cook moose meat, I had to add some salted pork fat because it didn't have much flavor, otherwise, it wasn't much different from beef. I don't know if a moose similar to a reindeer.
