"Faith" does not contrast with "fact"; it contrasts with "reason." These are simply two faculties of human knowledge.

Reason can tell us some amazing things about the external world. Faith is the vision of the heart into realities inaccessible to reason. It is similar to trust. Just as reason is fallible, faith can also be fallible; I can put my faith in things (or more importantly, in people) which turn out not to be worthy of it, just as my reason and my senses can deceive me. But simply because both faith and reason are fallible does not mean they are fundamentally invalid ways of knowing.

The deepest existential realities of God, the world, other humans, and our own heart, are known through faith, not through reason. Because these realities matter so much to us -- that's why we "put so much" into faith. They matter because we love and we hope. Don't let your devotion to reason take you away from love and hope.

I see very little sign of faith among the believers, at least here on Y!A. Instead, what we mostly see is simply deliberate belief in falsehood.

Faith is when you acknowledge that there is no evidence for your beliefs, but you believe nonetheless. Most believers here doggedly insist that there IS evidence, despite the facts. Faith would be a major step forward for them. In fact we atheists are closer to deep and true religious faith than are those believers.

There is much fact, however unless you shall open your heart and your eyes and your ears to hear, the devil will whisper in your ear and tell you its not true. I do know that whatsoever you shall ask in the name of Christ with real intent and sincerity shall be manifested to you. I also know Christ Lives for I have seen him eye to eye, However i didn't know at first. At first I was sure that there was no God.. I mean how could God exist I thought and let people rape/murder each other there can be no God as these things exist on this earth God must not be real..What a fool I was at least i had enough common sense to pray so i did. I kneeled down and with all my heart I exclaimed " O' God if there is a God which I dont believe there is but if there is will you show me that ye do exist" well he showed me he did my friends and he will show you jus like me for im no better then ye.. also I now know that suffering is a part ofhappiness that God allows the evil to exist so that righteousness exists for without bad there can be no Good.. God also assured me that those who suffer such evil things shall be so exceedingly blessed and they shall hardly remember this life in the eternitys..

faith allows you to dream of anything you want...even if you know you can never reach or get it...in other words u feel good...but fact can be sometimes sour, becuz u know it will happen, even if its something negative...

At the end of the day, fact is a promise, and faith is belief...

Perhaps it is because enough 'facts' have come true fromwhat God says; that when God says it many people believe it will happen even though the natural eye does not see it yet.

Two reasons
1- It is way easier than actually looking for the real answers.
2- They are afraid to die and with faith they don't think they have to.

Every single time you sit in a chair you are demonstrating FAITH that that chair will support your weight; even when you sit on a chair that you've never sat on before.
Why?
Is it because you've sat on other chairs before and they've never broken on you?
So then your FAITH in chairs is based upon you haveing tried and proven chairs.
The Bible NEVER asks us to have blind faith in God. God Himself even says "Come, let us reason together..." and Paul even says " I KNOW in whom I have believed..."
Without a doubt, every other faith in the world is indeed based on a surrendering of your logic and accepting something told to you without questioning it.
Christianity is the one exception.

Matthew 4:4:
Man shall not live by bread alone, but by the word and breath of God.

Physical nourishment is not sufficient for a healthy life; man also has spiritual needs.
