3 years ago, I was diagnosed - hypertension with a reading of 160/100. I used to feel dizzy a lot, my legs had awful cramps, and levels were very low in my potassium, causing my fingers and toes to always cramp together. One day I started to feel really faint while I was driving with my daughter in the back seat and I passed out, hitting 3 cars and ending up in a ditch. That moment,I knew I had to do something because my meds weren't working. I heard about this diet from a friend and thought I'd give it a shot. The results have been remarkable. In just 21 days, I honestly can't remember feeling this good, my blood pressure went from 175/110 to 125/70.

Exercise and diet are two major ways to reduce blood pressure.
Stress reduction activities like yoga, tai chi, meditation, and recreation are extremely helpful.
If he is on meds for his BP, he needs to continue to take them and to be monitored regularly. Uncontrolled high blood pressure leads to heart attack and stroke. Heart attack and stroke can result in death or paralysis. One has to weight the side effects of medication against the risks of not taking it.
I have systemic lupus and have been on some nasty meds that can cause cancer, blindness and osteoporosis. If I did not take them I would be dead now. As my condition has become more stable the doctor and I have discussed and reduced medications.

The best way I know to naturally lower blood pressure is to reduce stress, loose weight if weight is a problem, get some exercise and eat a healthy whole food diet. I know this works, it has for me.
