ok get this, i had gastric bypass surgery 3 yrs ago and dropped 100and some lbs. the doc said i could become real fertile but i haven't had my period for like 2x in three yrs. i am having unprotected sex with my man for 4 months and we been together for 4 yrs. birth control is out, causes real severe depression- even to regulate periods, and i can't seem to figure out if there is a clue to getting pregnant if i don't ovulate on a regular basis. are there meds that could help? pills, something i could eat? this is bloody frustrating because so many girls are regular on their cycle and though i don't miss the hassles of the period i would like to get pregnant sometime in this lifetime!!any ideas and not horrific one's thanks girls!

Sweetie, these are the kind of questions you need to ask your doctor, not the loonies on Yahoo Answers. This is an important set of questions that you need answering, and I really don't think there are enough qualified people on the Answers board to give you a definitive and acurate answer about the correct diet/medication/medical advise you need.
You'll hear alot of opinons about eating more calcium/less protein/more carbs/take the red pills with milk/have sex upside down to ensure pregnancy. But at the end of the day, these are all opinions. For a REAL answer, you need to make an appointment to see a doctor. Or preferrably, a doctor who specialises in pregnancy and/or infertility.

I'm pretty sure the bypass surgery hasn't affected your period cycles, but I would ask your dr. to be sure. There are "tests" to buy over the counter to tell when you are ovulating. You can get pregnant w/out having regular periods. My obgyn told me this. Invest in one of those kits(reletively cheap) and use it for a while to help you. If still nothing, you can get advice and/or fertility drugs from your obgyn or pcp. They will want to test you first and your guy to make sure one or both of you isn't shooting blanks. When I was trying to get pregnant(and my periods were regular) I thought I would never conceive. We had been trying for about a yr, day in and day out and I was about to go get checked(me and my hubby) to see what was wrong. Several friends told me to relax and quit worrying about getting pregnant so much. They said it will happen when you forget about it. hard to do when you want kids, but I finally managed to push it to the back burner and voila, not a month later I was pregnant. maybe old wives tale or coincidence, but it worked. Good Luck

First you should see your doctor...but my period is the same way. very irregular, only b.c.pills keep it on track. I was told once by a doctor that they can give you ovulation pills to make you ovulate at least on a regular basis. Maybe that could help you. I was also told that if that didn't help I would have to look into in vitro fertilization. Hope it works out for you.

Major changes in your body can effect your cycles. My friends Ex experience something similar when she went on a workout/diet program and lost a large amount of weight in a short amount of time. if you are really wanting a child you could try having your eggs removed then fertilized then placed back inside you. Good luck to you.

See a doctor and don't have unprotected sex unless you are in a monagamous relationship
