was wondering. is it a good sign if u feel aches in ur muscle the day after u had ur gym session. like lets say u worked your chest and shoulders on monday, and then u feel aches in those areas the next day. is that a good or bad sign? and if it doesnt ache, does it mean we're not doing the workout properly or something?

yes...you're fine...it should get worse the second day after...called delayed muscle soreness...this will happen until you become accutmed to your workout...when you are no longer sore after a session...it is time to modufy and change your workout.

It could be both, really.
If you're working areas or have starting going back to the gym after sometime not being there, it aches are likely just you working thos muscles again. If it doesn't ache, it means you haven't overdone it, or that area is getting into shape and responding nicely to what you're doing. Consider increasing your reps or weight, but not both at the same time.
Every body is different. And every body has different needs and limits. If you are actually feeling pain, then it is not a good sign. Be sure to give your body the rest it needs... and back off from what you were doing that induced the pain.
Be sure that you're stretching even on your off days from the gym.
If you have questions as to whether or not you're working the areas best and using the machines correctly, ask someone at the gym.

If you ache after a workout it is because your muscles are retainiung to much lactic acid, advice given to me was to walk or run or do a little cardio after weight training and you won't have that problem. The aches just mean you are using those muscles but you shouldn't have to feel the pain. (Sometimes the pain feels good, like you've accomplished something), lol.

It is good because it means you are training your muscles in parts that don't normally get attention. I think that is a wonderful thing. For instance, I have a sculpting class every Tuesday that kicks my butt and the next day I'm always achey. You should def challenge your body to do more and more things so you don't get stuck in a work out rut. But give yourself a day to recooperate. Also, if you are in an insane amount of pain, I would lay off a bit. You may be working those muscles TOO much.

Usually at the beggining you will feel aches for the first week after exercising, but after that, you should'nt ache that much.
If you looked at your muscle in a microscope after a workout, you would see them all torn up, all the strans of muscle torn. As your muscles heal themselves, they will produce more strans, thus making them bigger.
You don't have to ache after every workout every single time to do something.

that's normal...they should ache after a hard workout...especially a day or two after. that's why you should rotate...arms one day...legs...abs..etc... if they don't ache...you weren't working them as hard. the more you work out, the less they will ache unless you increase the weights you lift. try to rotate lifting with cardio...that will give you an all around workout. ibuprophen, heat and rest will make the aches go away
