this particular girls mom has bought my daughter some clothes for christmas, so i want to get her something to appreciate what she has done.. the girl and i have only been on one date and hung out a few times.. i've know the girl for about a year, but just met her mom the weekend before christmas.. i was thinking a nice yankee candle or something.. does that sounds good enough for her? thanks for any input in advance.. - chris

Usually something that can add some decoration to the house and not end up in the attic. Yankee Candle sounds nice, but go with a scented oil. They also like gift baskets or boxes from fragance stores like victoria secret fragrances , just dont put in a box saying Victoria Secret or a Bath and Body Works box. They are great to give. If you could quickly scan her music collection a Cd might be good. Something like Ben Harper or Jack Johnson perhaps; easy listening, not offensive, moden and is somewhat more personal. A candle reeks of thoughtlessness to me. No offense intended. It's the bulk standard "gift". I don't give them anymore because I've gotten so sick of getting them. If you can afford it, how about a voucher for a facial or masage? That goes down a treat with any woman.

Yankee Candle is nice or one of their gifts baskets. A box of chocolate is always good, or a fruit or snack basket. Another idea is a gift set from bath and body works.

i think the idea of a yankee candle would be great. she will appreciate the thought. make sure to have your daughter sign the card as the clothes were for her.

Yeah same as he said. Its different for everyone to be comfortable flirting. Some people are just more shy than others. It's possible that she does things like that all the time and was just trying to get a laugh. If she had friends with her maybe it was just some weird way of trying to act cool in front of them or maybe she was making fun of you. I would have just asked her. At least you would have known if she liked you or not.

You could get her a candle but also maybe a picture frame with you and your girlfriends picture in it...... i don't know what kind of parent she is so she might think that's too soon to get a pic of u 2 but you could try some like lotion or spray even some flowers would do......

You can never go wrong with candles. But if she bought 'clothing' for your daughter, I would up the ante and perhaps get her a lotion set from bath and body works. :) You can never go wrong with that!
