I find it funny when people tell you to wait and the right person will come to you. Are you kidding me ? thats the biggest load of the 21st century. If you do that, you will be single for the rest of your life.

I think what they really mean by the phrase is more like "don't rush into something you don't really want."

By telling you to wait for the right person, you're actually being told to wait until you've learnt a little more about yourself and the world around you. If you were to settle for that goth/punk boyfriend you had when you were 15, settled down and married him, how would you know if he was Mister Right?
However, if you wait for a while, learn about the world and what you think, you are better able to make an informed choice on who Mr Right is going to be.

Nothing is wrong with being single for the rest of your life. I think worrying about being single causes people stress. It's not that big a deal if you are cause we only live to about 75 years old and then die. And in the grand scheme we aren't that important.

But yes I think you're right. You have to be a little active in seeking out what you want. Most things in life don't fall into one's lap.

Very true. You have to go out there and find them. Now you should wait until you meet the right person before you make the commitment of your life.

I have friends that today are married and they waited for the right person and never made a move to find a girlfriend.

if you go searching for mr or miss right, then you take the risk of finding mr or miss wrong. i do believe that you have to get out and do things where you can find the right person. the thing is you have to get out of the house to be found by the right person. you aren't going to find them sitting at home on the computer.

I agree. You have to be proactive. I'm 42 years old and still single because I just can't deal with the "dating scene". Nobody has come to me yet. Still waiting!
