if you choose not to be a believer, that's your business and i'm fine with it. but when you go on these message boards to spew your venom and heckle and harass people who think different than you, plus frantically try to "prove" God doesn't exist, you are showing off not only your immaturity but also your insecurity in your beliefs.

if someone told me that a 9 dollar bill exists, would i get angry, call him names, taunt him, swear, and spend so much time & energy trying to prove him wrong? no i wouldn't. because i know he's wrong.

and if you try that, "they're always trying to convert me" excuse, you can add "hypocrite" to the list of what you are. what do you think you're trying to do on these message boards?? also, if you say "people who believe in such nonsense deserve to be ridiculed" good, go over to saudi arabia and make fun of the muslims and mock their beliefs.

why can't you atheists just live and let live and keep your immature comments to yourself?

THANK YOU!!!! I have been so annoyed by the stupid questions/comments that these atheists post. Some people really want to learn more about their religion and I get so mad when atheists give answers like "God isnt real so this question is stupid" and the athiests post questions on here just to get a reaction from Christians. And whats so wrong with Christians trying to convert? We are called to save people and spread the gospel, even if we dont know or like you we dont want anyone to spend eternity in hell. But you're right there is no need to post a question and then attack the people who disagree with you

I only disagree with Christians when they try and justify something using religion, rather than logic, when the question clearly called for an explanation other than 'because God said so.'

I think these boards shoudl be the only place you can talk about God not existing without being yelled at, heckled, people bursting into tears or declaring you're going to burn for a long time in lots of painful ways.

I am rather tired of Christians being allowed to ridicule atheists for being blind, uneducated, lost souls who are living pointless lives, but then accuse atheists of all kinds of cruelty when they make fun of Christians for having an 'invisible friend.' At least we're not dreaming up horrible ways for you to suffer in the afterlife :) LOL

And my father was an atheist who lived in Saudi Arabia, and he got on fine, thank-you very much. So what are you trying to say, that Muslims are intolerant? Gee, what lovely religious bigotry you're representing right there!

I am atheist and the only time I answer a question the the Religon and Spirituality section is when it is adressing atheism. I don't feel any of my answers are immature and I'm not insecure about my beliefs. Some of the Christians on this board, (not all) are down right mean to us atheist's. I am respectful to everyone, regardless if they worship god, so I expect respect from others. I am not immoral, evil, or disrespectful. My daughter is a Christian, and she worships her god, she knows I am atheist and she is ok with it. She doesn't try to get me to go to church or reform me. I don't try to get her to come over to the atheist side of life. The choice was left up to her.
I don't believe in god...simple as that...nothing more...nothing less.

Think about it...if you are an educated and enlightened atheist with half a mind, you'd be open to discussion. There are some atheists in here that have been nice to me and are pretty consistant about it, but they are rare I'm afraid. The RABID variety has no mind or intelligence. They are merely a big MOUTH with a sense of entitlement. They are here deliberately to try to upset anyone of faith. They get off on it for some reason. If everyone thumbs downed them or just ignored them, they'd eventually go away. Ever notice how the other rabid atheists congratulate them on how right on they are when they mock God? I just think that's the funniest thing.

"No because I don't believe in some imaginary skygod like you do....har har har *congradulates self for thinking himself quite clever".....

I love the skygod quotes. LOL. Just means they have no 3 demensional thinking. They can only understand what is placed in front of them with diagrams, like TV. Perhaps that's what is wrong with the rabid atheists (not the nice ones)....too much TV has turned their brain to mush.

In any regard, don't let them get to ya. That's what they are trying to do.

May the Lord bless and keep you.

They do it for the same reason that some that come here that claim to be "Christian's" ridicule them.. There are ways to opinionate your belief without being cruel or condescending about it.... And I am in no way accusing you of that...you asked a question, I am giving my best answer. I agree totally that some of them are particularly nasty and rude and have no right at all to post some of the stuff that they do and that they do it to stir things up... The Christian thing to do, would be to ignore it.. "Turn the other cheek" so to speak... My question is, if one does not believe in God, then why end up in the Religion and Spirituality section of Questions and Answers??
God Bless to any of those that do believe..

In a free country, we all have a right to speak openly about what we believe. While there is abuse of that privilege, I would not want to change the system to stop people from saying things I don't like.

Actually, the folks who "spew" show themselves, and their message, for what they are.

The best thing we can do is continue to calmly and reasonably give the message of truth, and let God handle the results.

I don't know about othes here, but I am not looking to convert, mock, or ridicule anyone. On the other hand, if someone writes a question directed towards atheists, I feel compelled to respond.

I especially need to respond when: 1. someone writes something inaccurate about atheists or 2. someone writes about a trait they dislike and attributes it to atheists. We're just like you.

Let me ask you this, though. If someone had posted your question, but flipped the position so that it was believers who were asked to shut up, would that seem like a legitimate question to you?

Friend, I am a Christian, You have many different ideals on this site, & there is only ONE TRUTH. After serving God for over 36 yrs. I know in whom I Believe & trust in. I find it must easier just not to answer the atheists questions & agigation, If no one answers their question, then they will not have anything to complain about, a spirit of any demon has to live on something, & all we do when we answer a foolish question from them or let a Sickening question irritate us, it's only feeding that demonic spirit, without food, It will just go somewhere else to feed.

I understand where your coming from, but some Christians are just as bad. They have a right to feel how they feel. I don't get how anyone cannot believe in a God of Love, but that's their business. It's not our job to judge them.(I'm a Christian). I feel sorry for those who don't know their creator, but that's their choice, isn't it? All they need is LOVE! Jesus would love them, wouldn't he? I think (melvinben) needs to be truely loved. I like your answer(birdsflie). BE NOT OFFENDED!!!

Now the atheists have made the Christians mad! I hear you man. Why don't we all just get along. If a Christian tries to convert you, don't get scared, we are "one beggar telling another beggar where to find bread", that's all. Besides, you can't run away from God. If you don't believe it, why don't you just say so instead of cursing, insulting etc.
