First both of u should be talking with your ob-gyn doctor. They have a list of do/don't with regard to self medicating and over the counter stuff. I would not take the honey/lemon option either!!! If small babies can't handle honey why in the world would u give ur wife honey when she may pass on in the placentia ? Unless a qualified physician says take it... don't risk it.
Second- is it the flu or cold... both r not treated the same. PLEASE, PLEASE TALK WITH YOUR PHYSICIAN. THINGS U NORMALLY TAKE MAY HARM THE BABY! DON'T LEAVE UR WIFE UNTREATED EITHER. SHE CAN GET DEHYDRATED REALLY QUICK, so follow closely what your physician advises.

If it's a cold, sometimes chicken noodle soup, Vicks vapo rub on chest, tad under nose nostrils will allow her to sleep. Sips of water, 7up(lemon/lime) soda may aid in keeping fluids. Definately get bendable straws for drinking. She needs to take it easy, go to bed and rest. But it's important she's under doctor care. Jello, saltines provided she can have them. Get her a good book to read, magazine and keep her in bed. Flu u have to be very careful. Constantly in both scenario's wash ur hands, use even a hand sanitizer can help.

Only paracetamol when pregnant. Rubbish I know but it's safest for the baby. Also get a humidifier for night time I find this clears my stuffy nose quite well. Nice hot fruit drinks are good too lots of Vit C. If she is very ill I would go to the doctor. Hope she feels better.

Oh bless her, poor thing having a cold AND being 8 months gone! I was prescribed antibiotics when i was 7 months pregnant by my GP which horrified me at the time, but she assured me i couldnt do any damage. But i wouldnt advise doing anything without checking with your GP first - its not worth the risk.

Hope she feels better soon.

Put some fresh lemon juice (about 3tbs), 1 teaspoon of honey, grate some fresh ginger root (about 1 teaspoon) into one of those posh coffee press down dooflops and add hot water. Let it stand for 2 minutes and then pour into a mug....add 1/2 teaspoon sugar (brown preferably) and drink and enjoy. If you haven't got one of those coffee things just mix it as above into a bowl and then pour it thru a tea strainer. It's lovely, has loads of Vit C and the ginger is warming and soothing. AND, you can drink as many in a day as you like....

No she can't have anything. No point goin to docs coz they will send her back with nothing(personal experience). It is due to the weather, hopefully it will resolve itself withing 4-5 days.

Jus a Dr should tell you what to do, you do not want your baby to suffer the rest of his/her life for a 1 minute wrong prescription.
