We are going to the Edinburgh street party. This will be the first New Year we have spent money on a night out and I cannot wait. Otherwise we normally have a party or go round a friends house. you are right though, if you just go out on the P**S what is the point? It is a waste of money and you can do that every sat if needed. Hope you all have a fun Christmas and New Year! x

Hopefully get the kids to bed (2 boys under 2 years old) by 7-7.30pm, watch the films we'll have from lovefilm.com (The Village and White Noise), have a glass of champagne around midnight and then wait for our 10 week old to wake up for his only night feed at around 12.30am and then go to bed.
No getting even remotely drunk or "skwiffy" this year cos a baby and a toddler are just horrendously hard work!! LOL. Bless 'em, though.

I will be skiing at Cataloochee New Years Eve until 4pm or so, go back to the room and get ready to party in the New Years at Harrah Casino/Cherokee. Then New Years day ski some more at Cataloochee in Maggie Valley, NC.
Peace, oh yeah lots of drinking and partying going on those two days..

not only less expensive but a lot safer as well. you can always ring in the new year in your own way and probably have a better time. plan on having snacks, listen to big band and jazz music along with cokes and watch the ball go down in New York. then make a little noise and " hit the rack. "

I'm going to have finished the second of two sixteen hour straight shifts at work and will either be too tired to celebrate or (more likely) get sh*t faced and feel like cr*p to start off the new year. Then I will go over to Mums and Dad's and help them finish off the Xmas ham!

I totally agree!! I'm also doing the same, i'm spending it with my boyfriend in our flat getting smashed and chilling out.
Last year we went out with 2 other couples and it ended up being an awful night, and damn expensive too! So this year we're saving the pennies and staying in, probably have a takeaway too... lush!
