Call a couple of friends over..Have a someone hold the tree up while someone re-cuts the trunk ...put an aspirin in the water and place the tree back on the stand and over the aspirin. make sure you keep water in the stand at all times. Now, because the tree is already drying out...be careful with the lights. never leave them turned on while you sleep or when you leave the house.

Unfortunately, I don't think there is anything you can do. Probably the sap of the tree has formed a crust and will not allow water into the tree. You could try misting it I suppose to freshen it up. But be sure that it is not connected to electricity and let it dry before turning on the lights. I would only turn the lights on during your party and Christmas morning. Never let them burn unattended. After Christmas Day, I would certainly dispose of the tree ASAP to prevent a fire hazard.

The cut at the bottom of the tree may have sapped up.
You could try either drilling holes below the waterline, or taking the tree out and cutting the trunk all the way across.
Good luck.

put water in a spray bottle and lightly spray the entire tree. Make sure the lights are off and leave them off for a few hours.

there is nothing you can do to make a live tree revive in 3 days, outside of spraying it with an organic tree dye,,, good luck.

desperate times require desperate measures --- in your case i would suggest you get it outside asap .
don't put sugar / and or water it --- it simply hasn't adjusted to your conditions .
i do not know if this will work entirely --- but you have to many options . good luck and hopefully have a merry Xmas regardless !
