I waited 3 weeks. I was scared the incision would tear open. With the blood I could not really tell if the stitches were gone or not. But when I finally got so sick of them I pulled it off and there were no stitches, it was just caked with some dried blood.

I have to admit when I saw your question, the image that immediately jumped to mind was a stick that said "Don't open until Christmas" or maybe "Chiquita". Anyway, I think you have already had some good advice, but I shall chime in (too get my two points don't cha know).

I always tell my patient to leave them on until they start to fall off on there own. Most of the time, that would be a week or two. Unless you have wound healing problems, such as diabetes, certain medication, extreme obesity etc., you skin should be pretty well sealed up after a couple of weeks. However, if the strips are still stuck down tightly, then are uncomfortable to pull off. Wait a few days until they loosen up a little.

This is really a matter best asked of your OBGYN. Why not phone him/her and ask? It's better safe than sorry. When is your post op visit?

I had a c section with my son too and had staples. The staples were removed a week later and was replaced by a tape. I was then told to just let the tape fall of by itself and not to take it off. So that's what I did. It was sticky.. yes, but I would rather not pull it off and something bad happens.

Phone your doctor just to be sure.

I had a c-section in May of this year, and I also had the disolvable stitches. My doctor told me to let the steris strips wear off and just cut them little by little as the ends peeled away from my skin. I wouldn't peel them off by hand because you should still be very sore and the doctor put them there for a reason. All doctor have their own method and thoughts on things, so I would check with her/him. Good luck and congrats on the new little one!

Mine took about a week. l was scheduled for a check-up to see if l was healing well. The doctor was the one who took off the sticker and even advised me to clean the area with alcohol cause it can erase the sticker lines.

I think you are referring to steri-strips. A special glue is put on your skin before these are applied. Even with the dissolvable stitches, you should not remove steri-strips. They will come off on their own over the next week. If the edges peel up, trim them off with scissors but don't pull them off. They were put there for a reason...

It will start to peel off itself in about 10 days, but I can relate, the glue they use is super itchy and when your hair starts to grow back it can be quite painful. What I did was use the oil that comes in the wax kits, or vitamin E oil, it helps to dissolve the glue an dit won't hurt when you pull it off. I did wait about 10 days though.

quite? people vandalize automobiles of atheists? i'm a Christian, and that i might opt to say sorry for my fellow believers who definitely don't understand how they arrive off to others. Jesus is a loving God who loves despite in case you have a darwin fish. no person has the the suitable option to take your loose will away. God gave that to us to apply how we'd like. back, i'm sorry. Oh - and that i don't have non secular bumper stickers - they are cheesy. Jesus is my King, no longer a catchy slogan.

When I had a c-section, I was advised to let is fall off, literally. It will, just give it time. Do not take it off, it has a purpose and you are still healing. Take care of yourself during this time. Rest when you can and enjoy the Holiday Season at your own pace.

My dr said one day, cause the longer left on, the more tape blisters you will have. And they hurt. Just keep the incision dry is what he told me.
