My granpaw taught me a fix, its actually a Science in action application.
Take a 3 gallon flat container, like a tupperware thing, 2 gallons of water, a sheet of Aliminum Foil, Tin Foil, add Baking Soda, about 7 tablespoons, place the Tarnished metals in. walk away, return in 5 hours and tarnish is gone. If its still there, repeat steps 1,2 and 3, wait another 3 hours and it should be ok.

I've been using "Tarnex" sold through Wal-Mart, in a black plastic bottle for silverware. Pore some in a small bowl and dip the object into it, when through, pore the rest back. follow directions.
