Some people who don't believe in Christ think the term christmas is offensive because it has his name in it. So they feel that they should be able to celebrate the holidays because if they have a christmas tree they are somehow supporting christianity. What I say is if you are offended don't decorate, buy gifts, and get a job that lets you work on the 25th and shut your pie hole and leave the rest of us alone.

The term Christmas offends you because you unconsciously resent that one religion has such a universal festivity on the birthday of its Messiah.

It's a good question to pose of one's self.
I don't think it should offend you. Christmas marks the birth of Christ -- but in the traditions of men it is actually the date he was conceived.
The 'offense' complained about by others is mostly non Christian religious intolerance.
I don't take offense to the holidays recognized by other religions and would think they would show me the same tolerance.

it shouldn't
but the fact that you think it should, offends those of us who honor the true spirit of Christmas.
