Good question! I saw a guy on Oprah a couple years ago who wrote a book called "Die with Zero" (or something like that) and I thought he had it right. He said you ought to save enough to live on in case you need it, but rather than leaving an inheritance, which will end up getting taxed to oblivion anyway, you ought to give to the people you love while you're still around so you can see them enjoy it!

what does death have to do with money exactly anyhow.. I do not think it is very productive to live your life thinking about death. but I do think it would be very productive should you die to leave your children/family/friends something to make this world a little easier. There is nothing wrong with money it can accomplish lots of good the evil lies not in the money but in the greed that accompanys money which brings with it pride. so the condemnation comes cause of the pride supposing that you are better off then someone less fortunate or if u rip off others to achieve your wealth this is the sin..Having a large amount of money is not sin though. Spending your time in idolatry with harlots which most rich peeps do is the sin.. wearing costly aparel and high heads/stiff necks is the sin not the money..Get money..Get lots of money..then find someone who has none and help them to get some.. this is good and acceptable in the eyes of the Lord. the commandment to forsake all and follow after him was not to the world but was to the 12 apostles those 12 were to rely upon God's mercy as the laborer is worthy of his hire.. the commandment to us was to do good to help those that stand in need.

I would think they aren't thinking it through that far. A lot of people are obsessed with security and want to know they are always going to have enough for their needs. Other people feel that it is a status symbol, and others will live the life of a mouse on a wheel just to keep it coming through the door. It is a funny old world, and we move to another stage of our lives when we realise that we can reap more by giving it away than by keeping it.

Maybe they are afraid of not dieing and then they'f wouldn't have money to buy the things they need. Yet my father always said nobody ever left this world pulling a U-haul so you don't need to store up to many riches!

i really do not know unless they leave it to some member of their family...i barely have enough to live and no savings so i am not much good on this question...but if i had money i would be generous and help others in need...i believe this was i am not just saying this...most people with money though i believe are stingy and uncaring and that is why they have so much money..

They haven't figured out yet that it's not "he who dies with the most stuff wins" it's actually He who dies with the most stuff ..dies" and his family has a huge garage sale.

maybe they think they will need it, they don't know how long they will live, and possibly they have a will and have left it to someone.
