We are the only species that can "reason". Animals act on instinct. They kill other animals to survive from the nutrients there-in. We kill out of greed and selfishness.

It is true that there is to many humans killing other humans and it should be stop because we should be more civilized then that but it is untrue that we are the only species that kill our own kind. All other species including animals like lions that are very social kill and fight with others of their same species for survival and territory daily. Usually the only time they fight with other species is when they are eating them.

For starters your wrong, many other creatures kill there own species, some mate and kill, some mothers even eat their own children, males of many species fight to the death, for a mate or to be the leader. We aren't able to stop its part of nature, one thing kills another.

Anyone who says humans are above nature are wrong, the reason we are going soo backwards and soo much hate in the world is coz we are growing further away from nature.

I don't agreed with killing, but its true what they say... Some people are born to kill.

1. When there were only four people in the world, Cain committed murder, effectively eliminating 25% of the world's population.....Jealousy, Greed, and Religion have killed more people than all the diseases throughout history, combined!

2. It will never stop as long as there is more than one human on the planet.

3. Humans ARE NOT the only species to commit murder. Watch Animal Planet to learn a little more.

4. Besides, as long as the right ones keep getting killed......what's the problem?

One shot - one kill. Dead before the round sounds downrange!

Many other animals kill members of their own species. Humans, however, can kill on an unrivaled scale. I'm not sure killing other humans should just be stopped altogether at any cost: peace under tyranny is not a good thing.

That is not true. Other creatures kill their own. Humans are the only ones who kill all other species. I dont think it will stop.

Males fight for prescious resources. So as to have enough or more than enough to lure a mate and reproduce successfully. This is the case for all species. Have you ever watched any nature documentaries showing lions, wolves, aligators or deer fighting ? Maybe, you should stop watching only sitcoms and Hollywood films and start going to a library or get some nature documetary DVD's. So that you don't seem so under educated.
The short answer is; It's called Darwinism.

Political parties in the US have to turn away from the cute zoo/jungle metaphors of Thomas Nast; donkey and elephant. If we need cuteness, "Belly and the Other Members" by Aesop is more helpful. Nature magazine reports 12/21/06 that stomach microbes may "lead to a way of fighting malnutrition" around the world! Lead author of the study Jeffrey Gordon, director of Washington University's Center for Genome Sciences says, "For decades, doctors have treated bacteria in a WARLIKE manner, yet research shows that most encounters we have with (the unseen world of) microbes are very beneficial." And Heraclitus, because he said "war is the father of all," needs to be put in a dusty storage room of a museum.

Chimpanzees, our closest relative are know to form “Warbands” and deliberately go into another troops territory seeking to catch one or two males alone. They will then kill and ritualistically mutilate the corps by tearing off the gentiles. There is no other reason for this other than a way for the males of one troop to bond and that like Homo Sapiens Chimpanzees are violent by nature.
