I love animals too and I have adopted several from animal sanctuaries. I just find that sometimes vegetarians tend to care MORE about animals than humans.

When humans murder one another - they're not that bothered. But they see a flea-ridden rat dodgin traffic, and they form a campaign to save the rats. What's it all about? Are they missing their pals from a previous life? When a lion takes down an atelope for food, who's in the wrong?

Just some random questions.

donia - you would think.

(H)Kitler - on the contrary. I think it shows the total disregard a 'veggie' can have for human suffering. You are deceiving yourself if you believe you are just having a laugh. You do not know suffering but obviously being veggie is more important to you than making a mockery of truly horrific events such as the Moors Murders and the Holocaust.

When you lose the last shred of respect for human life, you have lost everything. Nothing is sacred - am I right?

Hi Miss Interpret,

I wish I knew the answer to that.

I remember the same people caused the death of several firefighters in a large forest fire out west. Air rescue helicopters with water scoops went to a lake to get water to save the firefighters, but the radical bleeding heart activists put a stop to that because the lake was a protected area for some sort of endangered species, and the firefighters were burned alive in the fire as a result.

Another example was the astronauts that perished on re-entry because the same crowd that protected the fish over human life, had banned the type of adhesive being used on the re-entry heat repellent tiles because of possible non environmental friendly glues being used and resulted in using a glue that caused some of the tiles to come off, resulting in the astronauts being cremated alive on re-entry.

I am a Democrat, but there is a big difference between the Democratic party and the extreme far left wing bleeding heart liberal base that hijacked the Democratic party for their political platform some time ago.

Nancy Pelosi happens to be a high ranking extreme far left wing bleeding heart liberal hailing from the state of California.

She will be the reason for me becoming either a Republican, or an Independent.

Excellent question, but a topic that tends to turn ones stomach.

Have a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year,

Darryl S.

Well vegetarians are usually the first to point out the wrongs when it comes to how humans treat other animals. They usually go against animal abuse and are sometimes convinced that humans are worse than animals, that we deserve less attention than animals. They also probably have a firm belief that animals deserve more attention than us because whatever pain and suffering we did, WE bring it, and the animals pay the price.
I do not believe i nprevious lives though.
When a lion takes an antelope for food, nobody did anything wrong - its just life. Some vegetarians just want to stop animal death and make it look wrong.

I know many vegetarians, my sister for one. Of the dozen plus that I know, they have always cared about everyone. Maybe its where you live, certain areas of the country. I'm not sure, but why is it that some people who own animals treat them like crap, abuse them, and let them wander the streets only for those people who care to see them and start the campaigns. Its a vicious cycle. Save the whales/seals/monkeys, well what about save the humans?

I think that animal crimes are publically noted to let people know that there are mean and cruel people out there in all forms. It doesn't matter what type of food you eat. If you abuse people/animals then more than likely you always will.

This has nothing to do with vegetatians, but here is a short story. There was a guy who live in a town close to mine who used to take in stray cats. Well come to find out, when he saw a cat he would feed it, let it in his house and keep it. He lived in a large development/city where there were lots of cats roaming the streets. In this case he got a hold of my cat too, as far as I knew. The Humane Society finally went to his house after numerous complaints of smells and such. They found over 50 cats living in his home with him. In any case, they removed all the animals and tried to find the owners, my cat was not one of them and she never reappeared again. This man was strange to say the least.

I think it's all about choice. Humans have the ability to choose, animals just have the instinct to live. If we want things tested that are for our benefit then it should be tested on humans, not animals. If humans get cancer (little girl or 90 year old man) then so be it. It's unfortunate but it's wrong to sacrifice animals for our own selfish need. If animals could talk and you could ask them what they wanted then fine, but animals get no such choice and who are we to decide their fate? The way i look at it, everyone (animal or human) only gets one life and we won't ever get that life back and every life is equally as precious. so what gives us the right to take another's away?

Some Vegetarians do, indeed, get on their soap box with regards to animal rights, and they are within their rights to do so. You will find that many such individuals are also strong human rights campaigners, who are unafraid to stand up for a cause, rather than sit and criticize from the comfort of their armchair.
Personally, I have full respect for anyone who can hunt for their own food, kill it, skin it and know how best to cook it . Being Vegetarian does not mean I value Animal life over Human life. What I value, more than anything, is the right to freedom of expression. I choose to live my life within, and without, certain boundaries, and I respect the right of others to do the same.
I have moral standards that I am comfortable with. For example, I recently chose to use an avatar, depicting a renowned serial killer, as a private joke. It was designed to show the folks on this site, who know me well and I converse with through 360, just how much I can laugh at myself. The fact that it was taken as a slur, as is my current avatar, is testament to the fact that I am misinterpreted by ignorance...

Of course. You HAVE to be right.
I have never suffered because I am inhumane. Would you have the slightest clue of how to resolve that clue, in a philosophical manner?...

I suppose at least you said 'some' vegetarians do this, to shield yourself from any accusations of discrimination. These random questions of yours though are but rants - and you don't come off as very bright. But then, you come off on plenty already. Here's an answer to wet your panties, and just so you get may get a bit smug about yourself - I'll start by quoting your lovely self. Here is what you said earlier today:

"Why waste time on a campaign to save flea ridden rat when children are being abused, are starving, are being tortured and neglected? Why waste time campaigning against meat factories when the elderly are being beaten up in their own homes by 'caregivers'?"

You're using a debating trick there, that I don't know the name for (and cannot be airsed googling it) - but I am sure you know how little sense you make. By the same standards, it's wrong to care for kids who grow up in poverty, because kids who suffer cancer are worse off still - so all the money should go to them. If the European Union would 'think' the same way you do, surely all money towards agriculture, fishing, nature, culture and much more should go to Bulgaria. Because they're of worse than we are in the UK, though in other 'backward' areas such as Greece, they might disagree. In fairness, money goes everywhere it's needed. And so does care. I am aware I'm being rhetorical in response to your question, but then.. It didn't leave much room open for debate, did it? Apologies also for a few fancy words, I hope your intelligence doesn't insult your ego..

There are people who 'fanatically' care about animal welfare in zoos and laboratories - and there are people who instead evote their time to the welfare of impoverished children, famished countries, sports for the disabled.. Just because you think one charity is more important than another, doesn't mean anyone should. And if some people care more for the death of a pet, than they care about the death of a UK soldier in Afghanistan - it might just be because it's close to home.

There's a word for the sort of care you're most likely to display though. Take it from a vegetarian who is a member of a political party, supports charities financially and makes contributions in voluntary work to the Clean Clothes Campaign (underpaid textile workers happen to be a cause I care for): Apathic Hypocrisy.

I tend to agree with you, numerous times we see on the News how someone mistreated some animals and the whole town is against them, and then on the same day you see where some child has been locked in his room for 3 years and no reported it. Go figure. I love animals just like the next person, but sometimes I feel they get more compassion than humans.

You know and can interprete that people are different, in looks, mind, intelligence and caring...

Some people love fellow humans, some love trees and some animals..A human being can look after himself, in case of need, unless he is having serious illness.. But, animals being dumb, require some one to look after them. That work is being done by good Samaritans...They have some concern for the animals, which they may be, so that they campaign against killing of the animals.

We should not comment on what they are doing. If we can, we can support them, otherwise, it would be better,if we keep ourselves mum, instead of criticising them.

I don't know dear. This is my question too...
I'm not a vegetarian, still I do care about the animals and the environment. I'm a member of WWF and Greenpeace and try to support their campaigns as much as possible.
Still, human beings are my main concern...I hate seeing those ladies walking their puddles around, buying sweaters for them while children are dying of starvation in Africa...

this question is ridiculous. firstly, animals can't defend themselves from humans like we can towards each other. secondly what you're saying isn't even true. i am a vegetarian and i consider myself a thoughtful human towards humans and animals. same goes for ALL other vegetarians i know. if you're going to generalise about vegetarians why don't you first stop and think about the vegetarians that you know and not put us all in the same category. your remark reeks of discrimination. you belong with the racists and even sexists who can manage to make general comments about an entire race or religion and fail to consider the individual.
everyone is different and has a different point of view so don't be so stupid and insult people when you have no idea what you're talking about.
