My Step-Daughter has a silver ring with the word MIZPAH on it: She really likes it, but keeps getting asked what it means & where it originates from; she would dearly like to tell people: So is there someone out there that can put her out of her misery?

Mizpah- the watch tower..place in middle east i believe.. it is not a town, it is a place "in" the town.
Mizpah is also an emotional bond between people who are separated (either physically or by death). Mizpah jewellery is worn to signify this bond and the word "mizpah" can often be found on headstones in cemeteries and on other memorials. From the Bible Genesis 31 "And Mizpah; for he said, The Lord watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another."
