Well, cats are quiet and dogs (well, most) are energetic. I couldn't say which one I like better since I have both!

It all depends on your life style. a cat will use a litter tray while you are out at work a dog wont. Dogs need alot more attention i have 5 at the moment and they all crave attention where as the cats i had did there own thing. and dont forget vets bills have a long think about it.

I have both. The good thing about my cat is she is litter box trained, so if I need to leave for a day she can potty in the box. The good thing about my dog is he is an excellent guard dog. But I can't leave without someone to come in a let him out to potty. It all depends how much responsibility you want at home.

Dogs are definately better. You have to let cats out too (unless you want your house to smell like you dont have a toilet). YOu can train a dog to go out by itself and to go in the woods or at the edge of your lawn. I tought my dog to go out by himself in the woods in two weeks. You can really train a dog to do anything whereas you cant traina cat to do much. If you train and treat your dog right you really wont have any problems. My dog also sleeps and cuddles with me, you just have to be ready for 85 lbs on your lap. But hey he is lighter than my girlfriend. Also my cat bites or tries to bite me all the time. My dog has never bitten, or tried to bite, or even growled at anyone...ever. He also comes eith me everywhere I go. You cant take a cat with you. The only problem is you do have to find someone willing to take the dog if you need to go away and cant take him yourself. I could go on and on, but I am at work and I need to go do some work.

I think it all dependes on the person because a family dog might be good but somebody's grandmother couldn't handdle a dog but a cat.

Definitely a cat:
1. clean
2. silent
3. goes to the loo alone, no need for going on a walk even if you are away or sick or it's raining
4. cuddly and calm, mostly, carfeul at home
5. More independent, you can leave him alone for more time (1-2 days with no problem).
Trust me, I have both and the dog is a big problem!

Well, that depends. A dog is more friendly, playful, and can learn more tricks.HOWEVER,...a dog can also be alot meaner, and even dangerus. HOWEVER,...a cats are lazy and mostly don't like to be disturbed, but they dont make a mess.

dog, definitely.
cats consider you as their property, they don't really need you but to fulfill their needs. dogs, on the other hand, would die for you and love you no matter what.
beside, they will stay off your kitchen counter.
