but for everytime i voted i got a text back saying where to buy/download the winners single at 35p each message!
So, instead of costing 35p per vote, it cost me 70p!
Is this right, and if not how do I go about getting a refund?
Thanks xXx

It should tell you on the screen, when you watch the program, what the text rates are... Disclaimer is like....
"Texts cost £0.?? each + standard network charge"
You will be paying for the premium text cost to X Factor, and also the cost to your phone company, for sending the text.
To be fair, they should have told you that you will get charged for reply texts.....
If you feel the charges are unfair you can complain to the premium charged telephone services regulator "ICSTIS"
Try WWW.ICSTIS.ORG.UK and file an online complaint form, clearly stating what you have told us...

Strange, did you call the right number? If no one can help they can't help. I don't think you'll get one, so we are TELLING YOU you probably won't even if you tried and complained to x factor!
I know they said text a number to see how you can download the winners song.
PS: Don't forget that not only does the text cost 35p but you may also be charged the normal rate for a text message from your network providor.

You could always go onto the ITV website and find a phone no. or address for complaints. Tell them that you weren't aware of the potential charge and this wasn't made clear on the program. Say that you'll take the matter further and hopefully they might give in and give you some of your money back out of goodwill!

Contact Ofcom. They should be able to investigate this for you and if the X-Factor didn't advice you of the fee for receiving messages (on the small print on screen when the numbers appeared) then they have broken the rules and you should get a refund and they can be prosecuted.
Go for it!

I would get in touch with my service provider and ask them to investigate, the costs of texting these programs are clearly printed on the screen at the time and the company are taking the p*ss if they charge you more than advertised.
Don't hold your breath though.

Complain to ofcom. I don't know how they let x-factor get away with it. Too many kids watch the show so it will never stop. It must be destroyed.

Yes, this is right - I've been charged for texts I've received. You can't get a refund - that's just how it is.
