I don't think that it is a very good storyline and I think that they should have handled it in a much better way. I appreciate that Tracey is a strong character but the fact that she is manipulating people into believing that she is suffering from domestic violence is wrong. The thing is Tracey was a strong character who used to be horrible to people like Claire and didn't take any nonsense from anyone including Charlie and now everyone believes that she is a victim, it just doesn't seem right.
Also for those people that are victims, will it mean that more people will be inclined not to believe them, because they think that they are making it up. Corrie should have handled this storyline very differently or just left it alone

I agree with you, it's also making light of a serious issue and it is mocking people who've had to live through it. I just hope for once that girl gets her comeuppance, but the story editors never seem to follow these things through to the end and something else will come along and everyone will be rallying round 'poor Tracey' and she'll escape with it again.
I think domestic violence victims will be believed by those that matter, it's soap watchers, those with no experience of it that might think real victims are just playing up like she is

I agree!
I have been through it before and hope never too again but after this storyline, will people believe you? This is a serious storyline that should never be used this way!
I do think that hopefully people who the victim confides in is someone who knows the victim well and will realise that this person would never make up something like this!
On the plus side, i do hope that people will realise that these are ficticous charecters and it is all make believe! - I hope!

The kind of things that tracy is doing in coronation street do actually happen so it is actually showing a real life issue! i dont think it is making a mockery of people going through it. i don think it is the best storyline iv ever seen but it is dealing with a real issue at the end of the day!

Pathetic storyline.
It's completely incensitive due to the fact that genuine cases of domestic violence related murders and major incedents happen at this time of year.
It's stupid.

Heaven for C2DE's with chips in mouths and lottery tickets in pocket, with cans of White Lightning resting on that days' issue of The Sun, before they both go out to karaoke pub.

But it is only a soap opera!! Tracy has always been portayed as 'off the wall' - selling her baby, framing the Croppers.
It all makes good watching and most know that the stories are far fetched and far from reality anyway - thats why we watch them.

It's a good storyline - that's why it's one of the best soaps.
Don't let yourself be a victim - speak out!!

I think victims will be believed, however i think its unfortunate that the producers have made her the victim as she will get the "she deserves it" comments.I hope everything is now working out for you, good luck.
