I have traced a family member back to 1060 and he came from France. This particular family (Blewett) owned alot of land, and this man came from a place in France called "Briquevill-La-Blouette" Apparently he had something to do with that towns name and I cant find any infromation about it.

Anyone have any ideas?

Got it at last. I'm not quite sure what you are looking for here however what I have found out is that the original Blewett, a Knight, came over with William I, as I suspected. The family gave its name to Brineville-la-Bluette but the family seat was in Briqueville-La-Blouette in Normandy. As your other respondents have stated there are numerous web sites for Briqueville however unfortunately all the sites are in French. The fact that the name appears on The Roll of Battle Abbey indicates that he was present at the Battle of Hastings 1066 (more properly known as
The Battle of Senlac Ridge).
Bluat. The descendants of this Norman knight were at an early period Lords of Ragland. One branch became seated in the county of Devon, and acquired Holcombe Rogus in the 15th. century, by the marriage of John Bluett with a co-heiress of Chiselden. The great grandson of this alliance, Richard Bluett, Esq., of Holcombe, had two sons – Sir Roger Bluett, Knt., who died in 1566, and was ancestor of the Bluetts of Devon; and Francis, from whom sprang the Bluetts of Cornwall.

It's spelled Bricqueville-La-Blouette, and it is located in Haute-Normandie. Here is a map: http://www.lion1906.com/Regions/basse-normandie/Departements/manche/bricqueville_la_blouette_500084.php

And at the bottom of the French Wikipedia page there are more links: http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bricqueville-la-Blouette
