Due to the increase in the number of obese people over recent years (notably in the UK), healthy living through good diet and exercise has become an ever increasing area of obsession for our society, to the extent that being overweight is now branded as undeisireable and unacceptable.
However, being ginger has no such widespread stigma attached to it, so I would have to say it is better to be ginger.

That is not a very nice question...but socially I would have to say being ginger is better. If you are fat it can course all sorts of health issues, also it means that a lot of fashion / clothes will not fit your figure. I struggle with my weight and I am big boned, but I go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week and try to eat sensibly.
I was very much over weight once and I lacked so much confidence, I did not like going out to buy clothes or to even socialise with others. I could not enjoy the active lifestyle those around me enjoyed.
Then I went to the doctor a couple or years ago and I had a wake up call. Since then I exercise and eat well I am at my perfect weight and I have much more energy and also I am stronger and more solid. I enjoy playing sports and Kendo.
So socially having ginger hair is more accepted than being fat, so for me I would choose ginger hair. I never went to be over weight and unfit and unhealthy ever again in my life.

i think it is better to be ginger, i recently dyed my hair and in the light it looks ginger and i get called, at school ginger, because it is true!
But i am not fat and i don't see a problem with pople being ginger or fat, so what is the problem i think the people who call people ginger or fat or discriminate against people like his are the "socially worse people". thanks!
(p.s i am 13 years of age in secondary school year 9)- no use to you of course!
happy christmas!!!

It's better to be ginger - my best friend is ginger and she is gorgeous. And cos she's got red hair, guys love her!
I do think they should start a breeding programme though cos the ginge is an endangered species. Thankfully her boyfriend his ginger too - it's a start hehe.

Ginger hair is what you are born with. Getting fat is an option you choose to be if you want to dine out on fast food every night.
Socially, it's better to see you post a sensible question, rather than rude, offensive ones.

"Is that the kind of man I am, rude and not ginger?" - Doctor Who.
Socially being fat was more acceptable but nowerdays ginger is less of a stigma then it used to be.
