Historically, prior to the mid 20th century, full figured women were preferred to thin women, do you think preferences will ever swing back that way or is thin going to continue to be in for the forseeable future?

Actually, most men (the key word being MEN) I know do prefer women with curves, not the ultra thin women who try to look like runway models. Almost every one says that a size 6-10 is their ideal size. While they don't like the Rubenesque women, they don't like the overly skinny ones either. A good balance, the body that is healthy neither over or underweight, is how most of them define the "perfect" body.

But things go full circle when it comes to trends. Women in the 18th and 19th centuries wore corsets to make their waistlines as small as possible. When the corset went "out" so did the idea of being skinny. After almost 100 years of full figures being popular, skinny came back in, and it's been taken to the extreme that it is today. So yes, thin will probably go out again one day, but hopefully it will be replaced with a healthy ideal, instead of over or underweight.

This trend goes with how the economy is going, an abundance of food? then the preferred body type is thin.

when food is scarce voluptuous women are considered Ideal.

studies have been done that proved men when they were hungry considered chunkier women as being more physically attractive, as opposed to men who had just eaten.

so, in my opinion these tastes will change based on the economy.

(note to self stop feeding my husband.)

J/K ^_^

Maybe its a cultural thing because I have found out most European men find a smaller women to be more attractive while men from more exotic locals(minus Asia) find that a woman with a healthier frame is what is attractive to them. But in the end it should be the character of the person that comes into play rather than her size.

I've always prefered women with a womanly figure, as opposed to that little girl shape.

According to my husband and father, they prefer a petite woman who is dainty. Big women turn them off.

I don't really know ya know? I think that guys are very choosy and that everyone is different so they could choose small or larger women. I think it depends on what they want.
