"Carry Me Back to Old Virginny," which amazingly served as the Commonwealth of Virginia's official song despite racially charged lyrics.

Strangely, the song was written by James A. Bland, an African American composer.

In an era where a famous person uttering the N-word can result in a weeks-long PR nightmare, can you imagine an entire state whose anthem used the words "massa" and "darkey"? Oy.

If this one doesn't win the 10 points, I don't know what will.

You know I just noticed one of the other answers referring to "white Christmas" and yes, it isn't generally known but many peoople do play this nowadays, to enjoy the lyrics in a way that was never intended.

Strangely, all the worst racist songs I have ever heard came from the good ol' USA. - "down on de ol' plantation", etc.

Of course many Celtic supporters sing vile, filthy songs at football matches but I do not consider these torrents of filth to be racist or even sectarian. They are merely NEANDERTHAL, and an amusing sign of ignorance

it depends, because if you class the word ni**er as racist it would be 'golddigga', but nowadays it seems that you can say stuff like that, but only if you are black yourself. weird.
