they're sending mix messages i know all about t.o.'s past but he never cheated and tarshed and trashed the image by doping up every fan going to go to charger game and he makes a big defensive play and the back of the people's mind i wondering if he got doped up before the game and w/ t.o. yes i know about with the 49ers and the eagles and couple minor incidents some far with the cowboys i just don't see how the nfl can let the likes of merrian be rewarded for cheating i not saying let t.o. in the pro bowl but either neither is in or both are in not a drugged up plauer over a clean one.

The pro-bowl roster is determined by voters. The starters are picked by fan voting, and the fan vote was Owens' only chance of making it. He has developed a reputation as a whiner, his popularity among fans has dropped, and thus he was not voted in by the fans. The reserves are voted in by players and coaches, and quite simply, Owens is not one of the 4 or 5 best WRs in the NFC this year. Owens is indeed "allowed in," but he was not popular enough to get the votes of fans and not good enough to get the votes of players or coaches.

Shawne Merriman does not, as you say, get "doped up before the game." He was suspended for taking banned (though legal for you and me to use) dietary supplements that help build muscle over the long run, not amphetamines, cocaine, or any other drug that would have an immediate effect. He was "allowed in" because he was voted in. There is no rule that disqualifies him due to his suspension. If you would like to see such a rule in the future, write a letter to the commissioner or any of the owners on the NFL competition committee. They do value your opinion as a fan.

Firstly, I am an Australian, but I am learning about the game, with an interest in College Football, not that the pros, but by listening to sports radio there, it has helped some, and with the small amount of TV exposure here (ESPN, Fox Sports Australia), so here goes. TO requires exposure to be noticed in the game, and not for how he plays / performs on the field. Yes exposure can be good, but he has gone over the top in his actions, both on and off the field. As for cheating, nobody, and I do mean nobody should cheat at anything, with the mega bucks that are going around the NFL, maybe they all need a pay cut, and get real, both for the teams & the fans in general, afterall, Fans put bums on seats and pay, what I beleave to be a lot of money to see a game, which sould be played in the true sprit of the game.

i definatly agree. its no longer in basic terms like the NHL All action picture star interest the place they have the two a interest and a skills attempt. i don't understand lots of people who get excited for the pro bowl the two. Ive watch areas of it a pair of times, yet does every person quite care who wins? in the event that they had a skills attempt, far greater people might watch. Who does not watch Adrian Peterson going a million on a million with Urlacher? That'd be candy. Plus, in the event that they made greater often happening season video games, thats may be greater suitable too. i might lots somewhat watch a interest the place stats, factors, and overall performance quite matter selection. It appears like the pro bowl is in basic terms a interest for gamers from different communities to relax.

I would question whether or not you can say Merriman cheated. I think he tested positive for supplements and not steroids. Furthermore, in additon to fan voting coaches and players vote as well. T.O. is a cancer on any team he plays. I imagine that even Parcells did not vote for him simply because he is a "me" guy leading the league in drops.

TO leads the league in drops and actually isnt one of the best 5 WR from the NFC. Merriman, however, in just 10 games is tied for second in the NFL sacks race. Merriman is better liked by fans and players, so they voted him in.

The pro bowl and the 2 men have zero to do with each other. First off, TO not being selected has nothing to do with his off the field actions. Not only are the 2 in different conferences, but they play different positions. While I agree TO should be in the pro bowl, Merrian has nothing to do with that.

I didnt think they proved that merrian took anything but suplements and TO also leads the league in drops. It all comes down to popularity anyways. I mean yeah lousey players arent going to make it but some wont that should because their team stinks or they arent as popular.

there is not rule that a suspended player cannot make the pro bowl. They are different people from different teams playing different positions. Really hard to compare the two in an open race of who should make it and who shouldn't

The pro bowl is voted on by the fans. It is a popularity contest. Most fans are sick of TO's crap. He is nothing more than a show boat. If he didn't act like such a jerk he would be in.

Because Shawn Merriman has the respect of the NFL's coaches and players. T.O. obviously doesn't.
