What is the best route while driving from Kolhapur to Goa?

I have found out that taking the Gaganbawda ghats. Is there any other route which is short & safe. Please suggest the best route. I will be driving a zen.

Via GaganBavda it is a very long route.Better come to Sankeshwar via Nippani and from there I think u may get a shortcut via kule or farmagudi.Or another easy route is via Amboli ghat and Sawantwadi

Kolhapur-Panchgaon-Kurdu-Valve- Saravade- Gargoti-Patgaon- Dukanwadi- Mangaon - Kudal -Vengurla- Ajgaon--------GOA!
