The way a refrigerator works is this: it takes away heat from chamber A, and releases that heat in chamber B. this way chamber A becomes cooler and chamber B hotter. However no regrigerator is a perfect machine and so the amount of heat taken away from A and amount of heat released in B are not the same, but the heat released in B is actually more. when you try to cool a room by keeping the door of the regfrigerator open, then the chambers A and B become same. Now due to imperfection of refrigeration process (technically we say efficiency is less than 100%), for some amount of heat taken away from the room the heat released into the room is larger than that. so the room will become hotter and not cooler.

The principle of refrigerator is to take heat from it and deliver the heat to outside (room).
For doing this, the electrical energy is converted into heat energy and this heat energy is passing from inside to out side of the closed refrigerator.
This heat energy while passing out takes along with it some of the heat energy from the air and other substances to out side.
Thus the there is cooling inside the temperature.
Not only the heat from inside the refrigerator is taken out side, the heat generated by the electricity is also added to that.
Therefore, the outside air is heated while the air inside refrigerator gets cooled.
If initially the room and the inside of the refrigerator were at room temperature, then after some time of working of the refrigerator, the room becomes hot and the inside of the refrigerator cools.
If the room were closed one, the air in the room will be heated up.
if we keep open the refrigerator, the heat is taken from the air in the room and again given to the air in the room and hence nullify each other. But the heat generated by electricity will be added every second to the air. The air in the room is heated up.
If the refrigerator is closed the heating of air outside the refrigerator will be less. And if the refrigerator is open, there is no cooling and more over the air is heated up more than when refrigerator was closed.

REFRIGERATOR-Cools inside and throws the hot tempreature outside of the refrigerator through its cooling coils/compressor,
Now when u open the door of the rfregerator the cooling reduces as the hot air enters the refrigerator, again if u leave it openend for some time, the compressor will work hard to remove hot air from inside and the air will keep on taking place inside thus the refrigerator will not make ur room cool.

NO. You will not be successful because the refrigeretor absorbs heat from inside and exhaust it through its backside net like alluminium structures. Also the compressor and other electronic parts generates some extra heat energy which is also exhausted in the same way.
YES, you can do it if you install the refridgeretor in such a way that the back side remains out side of your room and the front side opening inside the room like an AC is fitted. Then blow air using two fans one into the refrigeretor at front and the other at the back at compressor.

U WILL NEVER BE SUCCESSFUL when u open the door of Ur refrigerator the machine of the refrigerator becomes hot and hot . it tries to maintain a constant temperature but the existing heat (room temperature) and the heat supplied by the machine of the refrigerator will only increases the temperature so don't try it

Dear Dipto, the whole solution will not work simply because the capacity of the fridge's compressor is not suitable for large rooms. The room may see a drop in the temperature by a mite, but the fridge is going to keep on working (the thermostat will not shut off since it will not reach the low set point). Your power bill will also increase and make a killing...Better buy an AC...

No, if you open the fridge door you will not cool the room because you will simply be moving the heat from inside the fridge to outside for the heat to diffuse back into the fridge through the open door and be pumped back out to flow back in to be pumped back out to flow back in to be pumped back out etc.
There would be a small temperature drop if the refridgerator was turned on initially and the internal fridge temperature was lower than the room temperature IF the room was a sealed environment encased with adiabatic walls and floor and ceiling. Then and only then would the overall room temperature be lower, but this is simply not the case in reality.

well, the temperature outside the refrigetor is higher (hotter) & the area of cooling inside refrigetor is limited & highly insulated.
if it is kept open the compressor life would be reduced as it will run continuesly to minimise the temp. but even then since the area is too big enough as a room it doen't have any effect cause 1. The compresser is not big enough (or stronge enough) to pump the required cooling.
2. the room is not insulated as their souldn't be any exchange of air.

Refrigeration is the transfer of heat to an isolated location. Combined with the heat produced from the compressor, fans, bulb and inefficiency of the systen, it would eventually become a heater.
