If women really want to be equal, they can open their own door, pay for dinner and the movie, and so on. Women only want to be paid like men, not treated like men. Why does a man have to spend two months salary on a diamond ring to profess his love to her, and in return she professes her love to him with a little gold ring worth $100?

I think the term 'equal rights' confuses people. I don't know why we use it. Anyway, women just don't want to be treated as inferior to men. It's a question of worth, not etiquette. All we are asking for is to have equal opportunities, e.g. in the workplace. In some parts of the world women are not allowed to make a living, so when hubby dies, she and children must resort to begging. The equal rights thing does not mean women are the same as men. Rather it means that they have the right to the same opportunities as men.

2 months salary...no, its gone up to 4 months salary for a ring...
and the mens rings can have diamonds too and be platnum..thats more than 100 bucks.

BTW, I like being treated like a lady, having doors opened for me, being treated to a night out-although, I do offer to pay for something. But if he insists on buying, thats fine with me!
