It's a clear wax. All it really does is fill the scratches.
Your better off getting new glasses, but if you can't afford new glasses this is better than doing nothing at all.

I'm no Rocket Scientist, but I do wear glasses, have windows in my home, and drive a car with a windshield.
Any substance used to remove a scratch must in fact be abrasive to the surface, even on the finest level. The issue is more that an eyeglass lense is only millimeters from your own eyes lense, and that eyeball will have to adjust to any new, optically designed lense that has been altered in any way. The other side of that "View" however, is that the eye bone is connected to the brain bone (no real pun here) AND very often dismisses a "scratch" in view, actually looking "around" it.

If they are glass, it's pretty hard to remove the scratches. It takes a product like "jewels rouge" to do that, but it is possible to remove light scratches with some effort. Some of the products do just contain a wax that fills the scratches and make them less noticeable.
With plastic lenses, you can find some products that will remove scratches, similar to the mild abrasives used to remove the scratches from CD's.
I've used Plexiglas cleaner and scratch remover on my glasses, and it worked quite well.
One problem is that in both cases, if the scratches are deep, you will be changing your prescription if you put enough effort in to remove the scratches completely!

It does work but only in certain cases. If you run your fingernail over the scratch and your nail gets hooked in the scratch, forget it and get new glasses. The stuff, by the way, is called Lens Doctor.
There is also another solution: Go back to where you bought your glasses and ask them to fix them. They can sand down the lens to remove the scratches.

I have used it at least a dozen times. It works and is limited to very small scratches and is very temporary. Nearly every time you clean your glasses, you have to re-apply it.
