I have a MX6930 Laptop, from gateway. I want to reformat, (get rid of all the stupid bloatware gateway installed), i have the windows XP recovery CD, and i downloaded the drivers into a CD, (i tried intergrating the cds, which would be best), what im asking is, its my first time formatting a laptop, anything i need to know?

make sure you took the backup of the files you need.
make sure you noted the ip of the gateway,dns , all those...
make sure you took the outlook psd file if you use outlook
copy the favourites fo internet explorere or anything...

Also make sure you have the installation cd's for your programs. You won't be able to re-install them just withe their program files. Back up all your documents, emails, etc. ALso you might have to download some of the latest drivers for some of your cards. Download the latest updates after your format.
