You need an anti-virus program with all it's definitions up to date. On relatively newer computers during the boot up phase, information is flashed on the screen for System Restore. It will say press F something or other. In older computers you have restore disks. When you put the Restore CD in the cdrom you will get a menu to restore the system or the whole ball of wax. The Restore points in XP are normally corrupted by viruses, but anything is worth a try. You can also call the plethora of companies that specialize in virus removal. Check the yellow pages; call around. Good luck.

Go to your registry editor ( start -> run -> regedit ) go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run & check if there is any unknown or suspectfull entry. Usually string of *.exe file. Check on the internet what is suppose to do. If its listed as a Virus or Ad/Spam ware's remove it (Peform a Backup, just incase).
