The first thing I see in my mind's eye are those red dresses from the video. Great song and cool video!

My mind returns to my youth when I and my sister each worked at one of two record labels of Robert Palmer and 'PowerStation' (aka members of Duran Duran) and we got to talk to each other every day working out the details of promoting the project!! We were both truly upset when Robert passed away several years ago. He was a great songwriting talent, although most people will never realize that because they'll only remember him for that particular song.
I am also reminded of the first time I really paid attention to 'Mark and Brian' on LA radio KLOS when they would talk to listeners who were idiots and they'd play this little edited clip of that song:
"You know you might as well face it, you're adic---" sound it out if you don't get the joke right away.

I think, "I never liked that song (or video) as much as his version of "I Didn't Mean To Turn You On'".

Remember that song? It used exactly the same concept for the video; Palmer in a suit and tie, with a handful of hot, robotic-looking chicks stepping behind him and, if memory serves, it was on MTV BEFORE "Addicted To Love".

My mind goes back to Video One with Richard Blade in the mid-80's.

I think, poor Robert Palmer, what a waste. God rest his soul.

Richard Blade makes me think of MV3 and Toto Cuello.

Have to say, these days, my mind goes straight to Weirdo Island, after the incredible fun of the "Addicted to Lost" Superbowl commercial...

Back to a simpler time that compared to today, would be a welcome return for such music to replace the garbage we have to tolerate now.
