When I'm driving in my Ford Laser sport '91 (it is an automatic) whenever i come up to an intersection, traffic lights etc i put it in neutral a distnace away from it. I also put it in neutral when going down hills. Basically I do it any chance i get. What I wanna know - is this saving gas or wasting more? I mean it does drop the revs down to zero and a half. I have an automatic

no. ,tune up time, to high of fev...Also may want to start saving for the new transmission! less movement in a 91 the better!

It will save some gas but a small bit. It is really hard on an automatic transmission to go through being put from neutral and drive all the time. Save money in the long run and leave it in drive, new transmissions can be really expensive

No. It's dangerous, think about some idiot speeding up behind at a high rate of speed, you hit the gas to get out of the way and....oh yeah I put it neutral to save gas! Duh!
